I’m Norm from Queens, New York. I grew up in Manhattan’s Lower East Side and have some fond memories from there.

I’ve been keenly interested in photography since I was very young. I took photos with an instamatic cartridge camera in grade school. In high school, it was very common to see me with my father’s Fujica ST-705 hanging around my neck. I started to build my camera gear with Nikon equipment and did some odd and end jobs to put myself through college.

I majored in Television and Radio in Brooklyn College then got my Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism at University of Miami. Transitioning into journalism was very easy with my background in photography: capturing moments and telling a story. I worked in broadcast news as a producer for over two decades. During that time I got deeper into photography and my skills expanded more than I ever expected. Just a couple of years ago, after photographing my daughter at one of her high school swim meets, the athletic director from her high school, Queens Metropolitan Campus, asked if I could photograph some of the other teams. Never in my life did I expect to photograph sports, and never did I think that I would enjoy it as much as I did.

However, it all started with event photography. I photographed a few Sweet Sixteens and a couple of small weddings. However, over a decade ago a coworker and dear friend asked me to photograph her bridal shower. Amazingly, with her huge circle of family and friends predominantly in the Greek community, I have been working non-stop. I have been in more Greek events than some Greeks. Opa!!

Regardless of what I photograph, it is all about a client falling in love with the photos I have taken. Many times I have been told I go overboard photographing an event. I have to. I want to treat my clients like I treat my own family. It is important to me to photograph fond memories that families can look back on.
